Recording & Mixing

I have experience with just about every facet of the Audio world. Music recording, live sound, boom operation, commercial location recording, dialog “looping” and editing, and foley post-production. I have worked for the National Theater Conservatory, the Fringe Festival, Smuin Ballet, Oakland Ballet, various clubs, industrial events, and more radio stations than possible to list.

Recording samples

For my recent work mixing and producing listen to any of the samples in the catalog, maybe you’ll find one that you’d like to purchase. Below you’ll hear some samples from years past…

This was a piece I recorded and mixed for a great Irish band in Denver Colorado called "Colcannon" at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. You can hear flute, bass and bodhrán. This dates back to 1991 and was produced by Tim O'Brien. The chief engineer on this date was Richard Jenkins.

I recorded, mixed, and produced this date for the University of Northern Colorado Wind Ensemble some time in the late 80's or early 90's. It was recorded at Foundation Hall on the UNC campus (my alma mater), using a Sony F1 Betamax digital recorder and AKG C460 mics. Very cutting edge technology at the time... my how things have changed.

This magnificent performance helped launch my record label in 2012, Digital Victrola. I recorded and produced this CD of Julius Jacobsen's “24 Preludes for Tuba and Piano.” The tuba player is a good friend of mine, Zach Spellman. He's the principal tubist for the San Francisco Opera. The pianist is Karen Hutchinson. You may not know her but you should!
