The trumpet music of Claude Arrieu - in collaboration with my friend and fellow trumpet player Daniel Gianola-Norris who dug up every composition he could find from this wonderful French composer Ann Marie Simon. That’s right, Ann Marie used the pseudonym Claude Arrieu, and she was a very prolific composer, but very little of her music has been recorded. Daniel and I will remedy that.
Bob Bissell Tribute - Bob was a great compositional and arranging talent here in the Bay Area and band leader Jeff Sanford has a very large cache of some of Bob’s greatest arrangements for a nine and ten piece band. Classic songs like “Summer Knows,” “The Nearness of You,” “Speak Low” and loads more, arranged for 5 reeds, trumpet and rhythm section. I played some of the arrangements and they are just such great music! I can’t wait to get this one recorded!
